Today my review will be about Earfun Air Pro 3. Earfun is one of those brands for me checking them out from the start has always been a great experience.
I have always had good things to say about them and this post is not a paid sponsored post I have really great things to say about them here.
Design and Build of Earfun Air Pro 3
Let’s talk about the design of these earbuds. To be honest, it is not really groundbreaking and looks like every other earbud on the market nowadays.
It is kind of generic. But don’t let that discourage you!
The clamshell case is pretty sweet, it opens up wide and stays open thanks to a nifty spring action.
Plus, you will find some LED lights on the front that give you the lowdown on battery life. And who doesn’t love some Earfun branding on the top of the case, right?
And wait for it, there is more, you get a Type-c port on the back for charging and even wireless charging.
Now, let us talk about the earbuds themselves. They have that familiar AirPods Pro style ear tip that many companies are using these days, and for good reason, they are super comfortable.
You will not get a whole lot of extra features here compared to the AirPods Pro, but the touch sensor surface at the front gives you control over everything you need.
And the real magic with these Air Pro 3 earbuds is all happening inside. Trust me, it’s worth checking out.
Battery Time of Earfun Air Pro 3
Let us talk about the battery life of Earfun Air Pro 3, which is seriously impressive. When the noise-cancellation is off, you will get a whopping nine hours of battery life, and that is not even counting the 36 additional hours you will get with the case.
And even if you turn on the ANC, you will still get a solid seven hours of battery life, plus 28 more hours with the case.
And if you are ever in a rush and need a quick charge, just plug in the earbuds for 10 minutes and you will get two additional hours without ANC.
Oh, and if you are lucky enough to have a wireless charger, just pop the earbuds on and you will get a cable-free experience that is super convenient.
Features of Earfun Air Pro 3
Let me break down the sound quality of the Air Pro 3 for you. Personally, I like to keep the volume around 40% for a comfortable listening experience.
These earbuds can really pack a punch though things start to get loud around 70%. Trust me, you will not need to go any higher than that.
One thing that really impressed me about these earbuds is that they sound amazing even when played at high volumes.
The Air Pro 3 is a major upgrade from the Air Pro 2 in terms of specs. You are getting Qualcomm’s QCC3071 chipset, which supports Bluetooth 5.3 and aptx adaptive AAC and SBC codecs.
Plus, with an IPX5 water-resistant rating, these Earfun Air Pro 3 can handle a bit of rain or even a hiking trip. The 11mm wool composite driver is quite large for earbuds, which helps produce some serious sound.
These Earfun Air Pro 3 are super easy to use too, just grab either side and start listening. Unfortunately, there is no multipoint connectivity yet, but maybe that is something we will see in future updates.
ANC in Earfun Air Pro 3
And let me tell you, Earfun Air Pro 3 have stepped up their game from the previous Air Pro 2 model. Earfun has seriously upgraded their algorithm and it definitely shows in the performance tests.
I mean, these earbuds can take on airplane cabin noise and low humming road noise like a boss – annihilating any form of noise in its path. And with music playing, it’s practically like the noise doesn’t even exist anymore.
Sure, you might still hear some chatter in a busy café, but given the budget-friendly price point, Earfun has done a fantastic job with noise reduction.
Even wind noise is impressively controlled for the most part, although in extremely high wind situations, you might still hear a bit of buffering noise.
Transparency mode is pretty decent, but don’t expect any additional amplification. It is more like wearing half-in earbuds and being able to hear your environment without completely blocking out your music.
Overall, I could give Earfun Air Pro 3 a solid 9 out of 10 for ANC performance. Earfun definitely nailed it with this feature.
Sound Quality of Earfun Air Pro 3
From my experience, I have noticed that these earbuds really come alive when you turn up the volume a bit. At lower volumes, they are decent but not very dynamic like most earbuds. But when you crank up the volume, they become really impressive.
The bass on these earphones is solid, not like those cheap bass-heavy earbuds. Earfun has produced punchy and deep bass notes that have a satisfying rumble to them.
They don’t go too deep, so you will not feel like you are going to be sick. The vocals on these earbuds are great too.
They are forward and present, and don’t get drowned out by all the other frequencies.
I would not say that these earbuds emphasize mid-frequency vocals, but they do a great job of ensuring they don’t get overshadowed by the other frequencies.
The highs are nice and bright, but they don’t reach as high as some other high-end earbuds.
Nowadays, with high-resolution audio and codecs being the norm, it is a good comparison to make.
I think these earbuds could benefit from some EQ tweaking on the higher frequencies. But luckily, you can just go into the app and make those adjustments.
Overall, I think Earfun should consider making high-res earbuds for their next launch. But for the price point, these earbuds are a great choice.
Conclusion
So, these earbuds have some seriously impressive specs. But here is the thing am I the only one getting a little tired of seeing the same old design from every company out there?
Don’t get me wrong, performance is important, but come on, we need something fresh and exciting in the design department. I’m hoping that in 2023 we see some truly innovative designs that blow us away.
